The overall objective of the Africa Programme, with primary focus on the national interventions in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger is to support the development of a well-functioning national human rights system, where key human rights actors exercise their mandate and/or mission effectively and complement the role of other actors.

As a student assistant in the Africa Programme in the Human Rights and Systems Department, you will be supporting the programme manager in a variety of programme and project related tasks. You will be involved in revision of budgets, communication with partners, handling invoices, travel accounts etc. Our work requires that you are diligent and a fast learner, have a good sense of order and excellent communication skills.

MAIN TASKS AS A STUDENT ASSISTENT

  • Assist programme manager, project manager and local offices in daily project tasks
  • Assist in translations into French, both spoken and written
  • Assist the project manager with monthly financial reporting of local offices and partners
  • Assist in writing internal newsletters, articles for the Institute's external website etc.
  • Assist with planning of visits, meetings and support with practical tasks
  • Assist with monitoring project progress
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks in the programme

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in a university programme
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both French and English is a requirement. Language skills will be tested during the job interview
  • Administrative skills, including the ability to coordinate and maintain overview over varied tasks
  • Ability to work independently and thoroughly on varied tasks as well as in cooperation with others
  • Experience with ESDH 360 will be considered an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finances agreement with the Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark.
The weekly work time is 15 hours two days a week on average. We would like you to start as soon as possible, ideally in November 2018.
